Gaza is derived from Arabic ghrazi, conqueror, and Gaza is the town that resisted all attempts of conquest. Today, Gaza forms part of the Palestinian autonomous regions. Indeed, the brand was created in reference to this region in order to remind of the Gaza conflict of 2006, the year in which the brand appeared on the market. Super refers to the superior quality of this Chunmee green tea. The package design of Gaza Super forms part of a range of brands that could be understood as comments to Gazelle. Gaza shows the same design and animal, but from a different angle, and its colours strongly resemble those of Gazelle. The same Malian importer also owns Super, Nuovo Gaza and Koutam.
